I ended up taking a sick day from work yesterday as I just can't shake this cold. I rested, slept, ate soup, drank fluids, rested, slept. I feel better today but still not 100%.
I pick up my Distance Series 15k packet tonight at local running store FinalKick.
I just read that there will be free Tidewater Strider racing gloves given out at the race. The temps are suppose to be in the 50s. It is going to be a lovely day to run and here I am still half sick.
I will be there bright and early and try to give it my best but I am looking for no PR or even decent mile pace as my goal is to use it as a LSR and getting back into the game. I have only run once (Monday past) in the last 9 days which is slightly depressing. I have a total of 4 miles this entire week where I have been averaging 15-20. :(
But this to shall pass. I will give you a full race report tomorrow.
It took me 25 years to decide to run again after being a high school track sprinter. My wife was doubtful and asked that question. She had already experienced 25 years living with a marathon running father and now her husband was going to start running. I have done it. I have become a runner.I will attempt to document my experiences and share interesting tidbits along the way
