In way of catching up to go forward, I am going to backtrack for just a second.
I told you I had come to a realization that I needed to lose weight and get back in shape. Now I have always been athletic and have been playing organized competitive softball for over 20 years.

I am no stranger to sports and I love the social aspect, but it wasn't until I went to the Operation Final Mile (Shamrock Marathon weekend) that my kids were running in that I got buzzed about running. People were having a great time, they were healthy, energetic, with great attitudes, looked like they had zero stress, and had great physiques. I sat on the sidelines watching my kids run and wishing I was a runner.
I can say now there were no misconceptions that day......runners are healthier both physically and mentally more so than I ever imagined.

So I had now completed my first official 5k (I do look better as I progress in my running than these early shots).

I have mapped out my summer of 2010, bookmarked several running sites, started a weekly running routine, and my weight is dropping as is my BP.
