What a beautiful day. Finally some warm sunshine and temps in the 50s. Feels like good running weather to me.
Last night I once again beat the rain: I took a short 2 mile sprint run to work on speed as well as zap the zero on the dailymile training site (every Monday your weekly mileage starts back over at zero).
Ran an 8:18/mm pace which was good but I would like to get that down under 8/mm for this spring and summer's 5k races. I moved up to the 45-49 AG and top 5 guys usually run in 22:00 or less so I got my work cut out if I want to AG place this year.
Looks to pretty outside not to try to get a good 5 miler in this evening when I get home. Unfortunately by the time I do, it will most likely be dark but hopefully the temps will still be moderate. Happy running all.
It took me 25 years to decide to run again after being a high school track sprinter. My wife was doubtful and asked that question. She had already experienced 25 years living with a marathon running father and now her husband was going to start running. I have done it. I have become a runner.I will attempt to document my experiences and share interesting tidbits along the way

Hey Rich, Thanks for stopping by my blog. Love the name of yours. I am looking forward to Virginia Beach. Have any insight on the conditions or temperature? Good job on your recent 5K, it looks like you are making great progress towards your half marathon goal. A marathon may be close behind. I just started using the Daily Mile (Monica boldpace, only have 1 friend- I need to get on that)so I will look for you.
Happy Running!
We are working on those dailymile friends already. :)
Last year my kids ran the Operation Final Mile on Shamrock weekend Saturday. The temperature was high 60s but that was unusual but it certainly took everyone by surprise.
2 Things to consider; boardwalk portions along the ocean that will most likely be cooler and possibly windy. Temperatures that might range from 30s to 60s but hopefully we will be right around 50 that weekend which for me is perfect after a cold winter.
Good luck and enjoy your time next month. There should be a big dailymile meetup before the half & full (picture session) and I will let you know where if you want to get in on that.
